Our Ingredients

Rooted in Nature. Crafted with Intention.

Our Ingredient Philosophy

Chosen with purpose. Crafted with intention.

At Nature’s Dew, an ingredient should have a reason to be there.

It might give a balm its structure, help condition the skin, create the lather of a soap, protect a water-based formula, improve the way a product feels, or build the atmosphere of one of our scents.

Whatever its role, you should be able to understand why it was chosen.

As the founder and formulator behind Nature’s Dew, I look at each formula individually. I don’t believe a product is better simply because its ingredient list is shorter, more complicated, or filled with ingredients that happen to be popular at the moment.

What matters is whether each ingredient contributes something worthwhile to the finished product.

That is the foundation of how I formulate Nature’s Dew.

Purpose Over Ingredient Count

Thoughtful formulation is not about adding more.

But it isn’t about using less simply for the sake of having a shorter ingredient list either.

It is about understanding what a product needs and choosing ingredients that help it perform the way it should.

Across the Nature’s Dew collection, you’ll find plant oils, botanical butters, natural waxes, mineral clays, essential oils, and carefully selected functional ingredients.

Some formulas are naturally very simple. Others require more support to remain safe, stable, and enjoyable to use.

Our goal is not to create the shortest ingredient list possible.

It is to create a purposeful one.

Scented Only With Pure Essential Oils

Scent is an important part of Nature’s Dew.

Our scented products are scented only with pure essential oils. We do not use synthetic fragrance oils.

Fir, cedarwood, lavender, geranium, citrus, eucalyptus, vetiver, and other essential oils are blended to create scents inspired by forests, lakes, meadows, changing seasons, and familiar moments outdoors.

I don’t choose essential oils because an ingredient list needs to sound impressive. Each one has a role within the finished scent.

Some provide the main character. Others create contrast, depth, or atmosphere.

Together, they allow Nature’s Dew to create scents that feel connected to the natural places that inspired them.

What You’ll Find in Our Products

Plant Oils & Botanical Butters

Ingredients such as jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, meadowfoam seed oil, camellia oil, argan oil, cucumber seed oil, and botanical butters are selected according to the needs of each formula.

Depending on the product, they can contribute softness, richness, glide, conditioning, texture, or help support the overall feel and performance of the formula.

I choose them for what they contribute, not simply because they sound good on a label.

Natural Waxes

Waxes such as soy wax and beeswax can provide structure and performance in different Nature’s Dew products.

In a candle, the wax system affects how the candle melts, burns, and performs.

In lip care, beeswax can provide structure while creating a protective layer over the lips.

The amount and type of wax used depends on what that particular product needs to do.

Botanicals, Clays & Powders

Mineral clays, oats, and selected botanical ingredients can bring functional, sensory, or visual characteristics to individual formulas.

We use them intentionally rather than adding botanicals simply for appearance or label appeal.

If an ingredient is included, it should contribute something meaningful to the product.

Functional Ingredients

Natural inspiration does not mean ignoring formulation science.

Some products, particularly those containing water, require ingredients that perform important technical functions.

That can include preservation, solubilization, humectancy, stabilization, or other functions necessary for a formula to remain safe, stable, and perform properly.

When those ingredients are needed, I use them intentionally and for a clear reason.

A preservative, for example, is not something I avoid simply to make an ingredient list look shorter or more “natural.”

If a formula requires preservation, its job is important: helping keep that product safe and stable during its intended use.

Safety and meaningful product performance come before creating an ingredient list that simply looks good on paper.

That is part of thoughtful formulation too.

Natural Where It Makes Sense. Performance Where It Matters.

Nature is the starting point for Nature’s Dew, and I prefer natural and naturally derived ingredients when they are appropriate for the formula.

But “natural” is not the only question I ask.

I also consider safety, stability, performance, how the product feels to use, and whether an ingredient creates a meaningful improvement for the person using it.

I won’t choose an ingredient simply because it is trendy.

I also won’t reject a necessary, safe functional ingredient simply because another option sounds more natural.

The goal is to make products that stay true to Nature’s Dew while actually doing their job well.

What We Leave Out

Nature’s Dew scented products are made without synthetic fragrance oils.

We also don’t add ingredients simply to follow a beauty trend, lengthen an ingredient list, or make a formula sound more impressive than it needs to be.

Each formula is considered individually.

What belongs in a candle is different from what belongs in a facial mist.

What belongs in a soap is different from what belongs in a body oil.

And as I learn more, test more, and improve a formula, I am willing to change it when there is a meaningful reason to do so.

Natural does not have to mean compromising on performance.

Formulation Is an Ongoing Process

Nature’s Dew formulas are not protected from change simply because they already exist.

If I find a way to make a product noticeably safer, more stable, more enjoyable to use, or better performing, I will investigate it.

What matters is not preserving a formula exactly as it was first created.

What matters is preserving the reason the product exists while continuing to make it as well as I reasonably can.

Ingredient Transparency

You shouldn’t have to guess what is in a Nature’s Dew product.

That is why our products include ingredient information appropriate to their category, and why we continue to review our formulas, labels, and ingredient documentation as the collection evolves.

If you are unsure about an ingredient or want to know why it appears in a formula, you are always welcome to ask.

I would rather explain why an ingredient is there than hide behind vague language.

Because for Nature’s Dew, transparency isn’t about making the perfect ingredient list.

It is about being able to stand behind the choices we make.
